Goggles the Grease Monkey

...My first official image for my 100 theme challenge! I have to admit; I'm absolutely thriving in this forced spontaneity... The excercise is doing more for me already then I ever thought possible.

So I picked the theme of "Goggles" to start with, and doodled a pair of goggles in my sketchbook... Quickly, however, they sprouted a forehead, which then magically exploded into a shaggy head of hair, a cocky off-kilter grin and a body that refused to let itself be clothed. From one crappily scribbled headset, I've somehow spawned an entirely new character. O__o

Anywho, this little guy would fit into something along the lines of an Angel Sanctuary type genre, were he to be used. He's even been kind enough to whisper a bit of his history in my ear whilst I slept last night. He was created "unnaturally" from the forbidden love of two angels- aka an I-child, by AS terms. Though his malformations were comparitively minor to most of the same lineage, he was not only born with a 'devilish' tail ending in scraggly feathers, but a severely deformed wing.

His 2nd (wing) humerus had, in the womb, mutated into an almost cork-screwed shape so severe that the entire pinion became fixed completely upside down. His right wing grew normally, though unfortunately the poor boy was still never able to fly. Not that it bothered him, ofcourse... infact, the "deformity" motivated him to become something of a freelance engineer, seized with a passion to create machines that would allow himself and others of his kind to fly with the other "pure" angels freely. Nobody really knows his real name, and so he only goes by his constant keepsake and fashion identity; "Goggles."

Dammit, even if this is a simple sketch, I'm freaking out. XD I think I may have actually SUCCEEDED in creating an angel-type character that isn't stereotypic! And he's MINE. ALL MINE. X3 ...o___o; And another thing, where the hell did this weird new style of mine come from? I just tried a demi-"realism" type of anime thing... and it worked.

P.S- Please do me the kind favor of cutting me some slack for the scanner shadow. x_x I had no way of getting it off, and with hardbound sketchbook pieces... it's pretty unavoidable.
